AreaOps Pricing — Free, Starter & Pro Plans

Pricing that pays for itself

Local-service leads run $80–$180 each. A standard 30-mile radius sweeps in renter-heavy and new-construction ZIPs that rarely convert — cut one from a campaign and Starter has already paid for itself. Start free; upgrade when your territory outgrows one brand.

Which plan fits

Pick by the wall you're about to hit — not by a feature checklist.

Free

You're evaluating AreaOps, running one brand under 250 ZIPs, and want to see your market on a live demographic map.

Starter

You manage 2–5 brands or markets, import ZIP lists from CSV/XLSX, and you've started pulling low-score ZIPs out of real LSA or direct-mail campaigns.

Pro

You run a franchise or multi-state operation: unlimited brands and ZIPs, read-only shareable maps for GMs and partners, and an audit trail across the whole org.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a brand?

A brand is any named service line you manage ZIPs for — e.g. "Roof Pro", "HVAC Plus". Each brand has its own set of markets and ZIP codes. You can add as many brands as your plan allows.

What counts toward the ZIP limit?

Any non-rejected ZIP record counts toward your plan's ZIP limit, including pending rows. Approved and pending rows both count; only rejected rows are excluded from the total.

How does CSV and XLSX import work?

In the Targeting Workbench, you can upload a CSV, XLSX, or TXT file containing ZIP codes. AreaOps parses the file, validates each ZIP, and lets you preview and bulk-apply them to any brand in one click. You can also paste ZIP codes directly without a file.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your data stays intact. If you downgrade to the Free plan, your brands and ZIPs are preserved — you'll just be limited to 1 brand and 250 ZIPs going forward. We don't delete data automatically when you cancel.

What's the difference between monthly and annual billing?

Monthly billing is charged each month and can be cancelled at any time. Annual billing is charged once per year at a ~20% discount (Starter: $23/mo vs $29/mo; Pro: $63/mo vs $79/mo). Both plans unlock the same features — annual just costs less over a year.

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?

Yes. You can upgrade at any time from Settings → Billing, or manage your subscription through the Stripe billing portal. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Is there a free trial for paid plans?

Yes — all new accounts start with a 14-day free trial of the Pro plan, no credit card required. You get full access to every feature so you can evaluate before committing. After the trial, you choose a plan or stay on Free.

How do I know when to upgrade?

Upgrade when you hit a wall, not on a calendar. The usual triggers: adding a second brand or market, importing more than 250 ZIPs, needing CSV/XLSX import for real campaigns, or sharing a live read-only map with a GM or franchise partner. You can upgrade mid-cycle from Settings → Billing.

Does AreaOps actually pay for itself?

The math is straightforward. Local-service leads cost roughly $80–$180 each on Google LSA, and a typical 30-mile service radius sweeps in university rentals, new construction, and low-ownership ZIPs that rarely convert. Cutting even one of those ZIPs from a live campaign usually saves more in a month than a paid plan costs. Results vary by market and vertical.
